ACTIVE PORTRAITS
I approach portraits a little differently from most photographers. If you are passionate about an activity in your life,
that passion should be preserved in professional photos. It could be a sport, art, cooking, playing at the park with grandchildren,
or an interesting job. In ten years, you may move on to another activity or become an expert at this one. Either way, you will want to look
back at these times and remember the fun you are having. Snapshots from friends and family are important, but a professional portrait
will become a treasure. I will include a few "smile at the camera" shots in the session, but my goal is to capture your personality and your passion for your favorite activity.
My portraits vs traditional portraits
Years from now, you will look at two photos: one from a $300 traditional "smile at the camera" portrait, another from a friend's or relative's point-and-shoot camera capturing you
participating in some sports or arts event. The traditional photo will look better because of the good lighting and the professional skill required to create the image. But, the photo
will have no personality. The other photo will be blurred, out of focus, badly framed or too dark or too light. But, it will bring back many memories of the event,
who was there, how you much you loved doing the activity.
My goal is to use my skills and my own passion for life to capture those memorable activities with the traditional professional quality.
Suggestions for an Active Portrait
Unique high school senior portraits capturing those activities important to you. These years will have some of the most valuable memories of your life.
Snapshots are fun, traditional portraits make you look good, but you also need professional photos of you doing those things that are important to you.
Special famliy photos doing things together. The traditional family beach portrait is nice, but take me with you to the zoo or bowling alley or whatever activity your family enjoys
together. Candid photos of real smiles will be treasures.
Playing a sport. You put a lot of time and effort into learning these skills. Have a professional capture your passion for your sport.
Art photos of you and your art. Whether it is music, dance, painting, pottery, or anything else, capture your creative process in your studio or at some unusual location.
Prices
I keep my portrait package and pricing simple. In this digital age, most people want web-sized photos whether they purchase prints or not. My proofs are delivered on a CD so you can post them to
your website or social media page or your digital frame. To purchase prints and other items, I put a gallery of those images on my website where you can purchase only the prints you want.
The first hour is only $125 (including the proof CD). Additional hours are $75, if we need more time to capture that perfect image. There will be at least 20 photos per hour of shooting.
Print prices: 4x6 $8 | 5x7 $12 | 8x10 $20 | 11x14 $30 | 16x20 $50 (Other print sizes available)

High-resolution digital images: $15ea; $12.50ea for 10 or more; $10ea for 20 or more
Low-resolution and high-resolution images are for personal use. Contact me for any other purpose.
There are also some other fun items available like keyrings, luggage tags, mouse pads, license tags, and t-shirts.
